How to Generate Appraisal Reports

Generate, download and share USPAP compliant Appraisal Reports

Updated today

Appraisal Bureau makes it easy to generate professional appraisal reports on demand — whether for one artwork or hundreds at once. Reports are purpose-specific, formatted for compliance, and available instantly through your dashboard.

Below is a step-by-step guide for generating reports, either individually or in bulk.

1. Before You Start

To generate a report, your artwork must have a valid valuation already delivered in your account.

  • FMV (Fair Market Value) reports are valid for 6 months

  • RRV (Retail Replacement Value) reports are valid for 1 year

If your valuation has expired, request a new appraisal directly from the artwork page.

2. Generate a Report for a Single Artwork

  • Navigate to the Artwork page

  • Click “Generate Report”

  • A popup will appear where you can:

    • Confirm or update the Requestor

    • Confirm or update the Owner

    • Add a valid mailing address (required for new individuals)

  • If you, the user, are the owner, your saved address will populate automatically

  • Click Generate — the report will be created in seconds and saved to the Reports tab

3. Generate Reports in Bulk

To generate reports for multiple artworks:

  • Go to the Portfolio page

  • Use filters, tags, or collections to narrow down the artworks you want to include

  • Select individual artworks using the checkboxes, or click the top-left checkbox to Select All

  • Click “Generate Report” at the top of the page

  • In the popup, confirm or update:

    • Requestor

    • Owner

    • Mailing address (if required)

  • Click Generate — reports for all selected artworks will be processed together

4. Where to Find Your Reports

Once generated, all reports appear in the Reports tab. From here, you can:

  • View each report

  • Download a PDF copy

  • Share the report with another user

Note: Sharing a report does not give access to the artwork or its valuation — only to the specific PDF document.
